Marcos more than ready for his grandfather era

Luisa Cabato

While President Marcos is eager to become a grandfather, he doubts he will be one soon.

In the final part of BBM Podcast Episode 5 which aired on Wednesday, Mr. Marcos was asked what advice he would give to a potential daughter-in-law.

“Well, I’m at the stage in my life where I would say, ‘Yes, please.’ But I would also add, ‘Good luck.’ Knowing my sons, good luck with that,” the President responded.

He and first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos have three sons: Joseph Simon, William Vincent, and Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Alexander or “Sandro.”

Mr. Marcos was also asked how he bonds with his sons given their different personalities.

“I don’t know. I don’t really have to think about it because I’ve always treated them as whole persons. I never sort of said, this is a child you need to … For example, I never did baby talk. I thought that’s the most silly thing to do. And I just dealt with them as people,” he said.

“But over the years, we’ve already developed a way of relating. And each one is very different. But they all crack me up. They all make me laugh a lot,” he added.
